Boston: How to Get Pregnant by Scheduling Sex - 5 Tips on Getting Pregnant the Easy and Fun Way!

Boston,

Couples having difficulty to have a baby often resort to schedule sex in a rather boring way. Their sole purpose is to make sure conception occurs at the right time. Pleasure takes a back seat and it becomes a chore to have sex in order to produce a baby.

If you are trying to figure out how to get pregnant after many failed attempts, here are top 5 tips to get back your confidence while scheduling sex!

Tip 1- timing is first and everything

We are talking about pinpointing certain times in a month where chances of conception is highest.

The hard fact is ovulation (the time an egg is produced by a woman ready for fertilization by a sperm) ALWAYS occurs 12 to 14 days before the next period is due to begin. Or to be more precise the period will start 12 to 14 days after ovulation occurs. And it is theoretically the best timing to conceive provided one of the sperms mange to meet the egg successfully.

The other two ways are monitor the onset of ovulation by means of an ovulation predictor kit (OPK) and spotting the physical body symptoms of ovulation.

OPK is readily available from your neighborhood pharmacy. Its principle of detection is the rise of luteinizing hormone (LH) present in the urine of the woman. The LH level is set to increase just before ovulation occurs. The only setback of this test is some women inherently have high levels of LH especially those who are nearing menopause. In such case, it might not be very accurate.

A woman could easily tell that ovulation has occurred when one of the following symptoms is present:-

  • her basal body temperature dips a little just before ovulation and then rises again after ovulation

  • her cervical mucus becomes more and more slippery, stretchy and transparent when approaching ovulation

  • mittelschmerz(a term to describe one-sided, lower abdominal pain that occurs in women at or around the time of an egg is released from the ovaries)

Tip 2 – schedule your sexual intercourse

It is best to write down on the calendar that expected ovulation date and at least have sex on one day before ovulation and on alternate days for next five days. It may look unsexy to plan a specific week to make love but it could well be very romantic if you plan well.

Some spices could be added during the week like engaging in verbal and physical foreplay romantically, intimate body massage, light music, light candles or some fantasy play if you are up to it.

Tip 3 – try out different positions

Although the missionary position (man-on-top) is believed to be the most effective position for the sperms to flow into the cervix, there is no hard medical evidence to suggest that. It is alright to experience different positions as long as the semen remains in the vagina after ejaculation. The only sensible thing to do is for the woman to lie down on her back and elevate the legs for a while immediately after sex.

Tip 4 – the don’ts

Indeed this tip consists of several don’ts which are overlooked by some couples. They are:-

  • Woman should not be made to laugh immediately after ejaculation. Laughing involves the tensing of muscles which could force the semen out of the vagina, thus reducing the chances of conception

  • Don’t make sexual intercourse a stressful experience by putting unnecessary pressure on both partners. Try to keep it natural and romantic. It should not be likened to taking a GMAT or SAT!

  • Don’t drink before sex. Alcohol is proven to have adverse performance on man and woman.

Tip 5 – have every day or at least every other day

Wow! What we mean here is to have sex every day (if you are up it) or every other day, starting right after your period ends. It must be remembered that a sperm could survive in the woman for up to 5 or 6 days. So this method would give you a good shot to get pregnant. Some doctors say that having sex everyday would mean the sperms produced would not be sufficient to have successful fertilization. The other school of thought is having sex every other day would mean enough time for the sperm count to build up.

It is frustrating to fail each time when you try different methods. I would suggest you sit back and read through the above tips and try again. I am sure one day you would succeed.
