Boston: How Your Week-By-Week Pregnancy Progresses

We bring you here a detailed week-by-week pregnancy chart, so that you know exactly what happens with your during each week of your pregnancy. Take a look at it, so you know what to expect as the days progress.


1. Start behaving like you are pregnant. Lead a healthy life and get rid of alcohol and smoke right from now!


2. You never know, you might actually be pregnant as you read this!


3. This is the time the zygote tries to implant itself in your endometrial lining. You might experience implantation bleeding.


4. A urine test can confirm your pregnancy now.


5. Your baby’s heartbeat starts off now!


6. She now grows a little more – her little heart bulges out from her chest.


7. Baby’s hand plates start forming now, as also nasal pits.


8. Her bones start forming and so does her internal genitalia.


9. Toe rays appear during this week!


10. Ah, the cute little devil loses her tail, finally!


11. This week is for finger nail development.


12. Can you beat it? You can actually hear her heartbeat with ultrasound!


13. Her intestinal tract starts developing now.


14. Baby starts off urinating at this stage.


15. An ultrasound may actually show your baby sucking her thumb!


16. Limb movements slowly get coordinated.


17. Her external ears are visibly forming well.


18. Now comes the finger pad development!


19. Baby has fine hairs all over her body, which she will shed later.


20. You can now get a clear peek at her via ultrasound!


21. By now, baby tries to move to the head-down position.


22. Her eyebrows start forming during this week.


23. Baby actually forms and releases her first stool.


24. She continues to grow at the rapid pace that you cannot even conceptualize!


25. By the end of this week, your little life will be about 1 pound and 9 ounces heavy!


26. She can actually perceive and react to external lights and sounds.


27. Her skin becomes really transparent at this stage.


28. In case you are going to have a baby boy, his testes starts descending now.


29. Her red blood cells start developing this week.


30. She is getting pretty independent now – she can maintain her own body temperature!


31. This week, her irises respond to light, which means, she clearly perceives changes in light.


32. Baby weighs about 1.5kgs now.


33. Her lungs can now function on their own.


34. Now the hormones present in the placenta help form mother’s milk in your breasts.


35. All baby’s vital functions have almost developed now.


36. Baby is adding finishing touches to herself now!


37. Now she practices her breathing exercises inside you.


38. You are not the only impatient one – she cannot wait to come out either!


39. Baby’s immune system develops almost fully now.


40. It is almost time for you, so get prepared for the big event….


41. Just one week more, so stay put!


42. Congratulations, you are a proud mom!
