Boston: Ovulation to Conceive - Do You Know Your Exact Timing?

Boston,

If you have been struggling to conceive, it does not mean you are infertile. Knowing your exact timing of ovulation to conceive is what you need to do to increase your chances of getting pregnant naturally.

Monitoring the time frame which you are ovulating are the most basic and easy steps to perform when you are planning to conceive. But do you know how to do it correctly?

For your greater conceiving chances, here is the right way to do it:

1. You need to monitor your body basal temperature (BBT) everyday from the first day you are free from your menstruation until the last day before you get the next one.

2. You will take your body temperature immediately when you wake up in the morning. To maintain your BBT stability, you must not move your body until you finish taking the reading. Therefore you have to put the thermometer within your reach while you are still lying down.

3. Put the ovulation thermometer which you can purchase from your local drug store, in your mouth and keep lying down for at least five minutes before you take the reading.

4. Make sure you record down the temperature reading with the date in your note book or chart book. Bear in mind that you must not miss any single day in the cycle.

5. To clearly see the trend of your BBT, you need to plot a graph of the dates (horizontal axis) versus the temperature (vertical axis).

6. What you will see in the chart is a flat line except at one or two points in sequence where you will see a sudden drop and a sudden rise from the flat line.

7. The sudden change of the temperature is the exact time frame you are ovulating. If you have consistent ovulation menstrual cycle your ovulation time frame will be consistent as well.

During this ovulation time frame, it is advisable for you and your partner to have intercourse more than once. Performing sexual activities during this time frame should become your routine even when you are planning to extend your effort in getting pregnant to other alternatives.
