Boston: A Few Reasons Behind Missed Or Irregular Periods

Boston,

A woman can go into a panic if she misses “that time of the month.” On the other hand, she may be very happy because she does not have to deal with it for another month, or she may be elated.

She may be elated because she is assuming that she is pregnant and this is good news for both she and her spouse.

However, there are many other reason apart from pregnancy as to why she may miss it, or as to why it is irregular from month to month.

Pregnancy

As was mentioned before, if you are of age, the first thing that may come to mind after your period does not arrive, within the month, is maybe you are pregnant. In this case, you can take a home pregnancy test and you can judge it with the other signs, if any, that are usually present when a new life is present.

However, it is wiser to visit a doctor who will be able to confirm or deny it and at the same time, you can begin with the regular visits to a Gynecologist for the caring of your baby and you.

Menopause

On the other hand, if you are over the age of fifty, it may be because you are entering the menopause stage.

Menarche (start of menstrual cycle)

When a young girl embark on this journey, for the first two years of dealing with it, it may be irregular, because it may take some time for it to become stabilize.

Birth Control

If you are taking any form of birth control, it can also affect it. They can be in the form of pills, injection, or the patch. Therefore, it is a good idea to read about some of the side effects before using any of them.

Stress

Stress can become a very dangerous thing, so dangerous that it can trigger a heart attack and therefore, it can affect your monthly menstruation.

Medication

If you have been taking medication for any length of time or if you have started on a new set of pills, it may be that this is why you have missed it. The medication could be both legal as well as illegal.

Breastfeeding

When you are breastfeeding your little one, it also play a part in it.

Hormones Imbalance

If your hormones are imbalance, it can cause your menstruation to be irregular.

Thyroid Disease

If you are suffering from a Thyroid disease and it remains untreated, it can also affect your period.
