Boston: What Happens During Pregnancy - Week Seven

Boston,

Your pregnancy week seven is probably one of the most exciting times, you may have just found out of your conception because of a missed period. Finally you have taken a test and it reads positive! During this period, you may get annoyed with zits that are popping on your face and back uncontrollably and you don’t even know what caused them. This can be attributed to the rapid acceleration of hormones in your body. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser and make sure you get enough water throughout the day. Your doctor may advise you to take Vitamin B6 to help improve your skin condition. This can help with nausea as well.

Your waistline will start to expand which is why your favorite skinny jeans will hardly fit you. Some women experience constipation during their pregnancy week seven. They also complain about indigestion. What about cravings and food aversions? These will eventually disappear when you near your 4th month. Don’t indulge yourself too much especially of unhealthy foods. If you’re craving for ice cream, think of a healthier substitute like yogurt with fresh fruits.

What about your baby? What are the developments during your pregnancy week seven? Your baby is about the size of a small bean, roughly around 9 to 11 millimeters. There would be dark spots which mark the early formation of the eyes and pits would indicate the formation of nostrils and ears. Your baby’s brain would develop rapidly during this period along with limbs and some facial characteristics. The heart will now have a right and left chamber and at this point the heartbeat can be detected through ultrasound. There would also be changes with the esophagus and trachea as they differentiate into separate tubes, the lungs will be positioned on either side.

During your pregnancy-week seven, you should have had your first visit with your health care provider so he can recommend some vitamins to make sure your baby is healthy.
