The second trimester is the worse time where yeast will start to manifest symptoms in your body. Yeast is a microscopic fungus that plays a major role in taking away joy in pregnancy. It is a fungus that lives in our bodies and exists peacefully until conditions are favorable. Monilia is the scientific name given to yeast and it is also referred to as candida albicans. Yeast lives in many parts of the body including skin, vagina, and other places. Vaginal infection by yeast during pregnancy is the most common.

Conditions are made favorable by pregnancy in the vagina and this is attributed to hormonal confusion or imbalance. During pregnancy, there will be higher levels of glucose in the bloodstream and the vagina will receive these nourishment and yeast will awaken and start multiplying. Therefore, if you are newly pregnant or trying to get pregnant, you should have all these factors in mind. Yeast infection and pregnancy will always be spoken in the same breath but, you need to rest assured that the condition is not threatening to your pregnancy however, if you find yourself with it, you will have a lot of discomfort.

Some of the symptoms that you need to be aware of are several. The main sign is itching, soreness, redness and a flowing white discharge. Yeast infection and pregnancy presents a big challenge for you who is expectant. You need to take some measures to deal with the problem. This is because if you do not treat the infection properly, your baby will definitely be affected and infected during childbirth. You need to consult a doctor firstly, because you need a confirmation of the infection. There is a huge possibility that you are not suffering from yeast overgrowth. This means that you might have another disease with similar symptoms and signs of yeast.

Many women have lost their pregnancy and left puzzled about how a yeast infection could terminate pregnancy. You need to put in mind that yeast has never been associated with a miscarriage and the factor that these women overlook is the fact that their condition was not fungal.
